Malthus Paragraph Jacob Feiner

Although innovations have been made rapid growth of population due to the poor recklessly reproducing and blaming other for their plight, the food supply will be strained. The fact that the poor are the root of this problem is shown by the fact that “When the wages of [their] labor are hardly sufficient to maintain two children the man marries and have six.” this Demonstrates that they cannot restrain from procreating even when it is in their interest to do so. This lack of control is what leads to overpopulation which strains the food supply as “the power of the population is indefinitely greater than the power of the earth to produce subsistence for man.” This means that the population will away require more food than the earth is capable of producing. The reason that this problem is not addressed is that when the a poor person finds himself unable to provide for his family “He accuses his parish, he accuses the avarice of the rich... the last person he would think of accusing is himself."  These attributes mean that his problems can not be solved since he needs to change but he will not accept he is the problem. These attributes cause the poor to be the route of the problem.

  1. The evidences corresponds to the thesis and fluent use of quotes from the original reading. I suggest to capitalize " this Demonstrate..." at line 4--> This quote demonstrates...

  4. I would add a comma after "Although innovations have been made" because that is an introductory dependent clause. In addition, saying "the food supply will be strained" does not make perfect sense, for it already is somewhat strained. Other than that your paragraph is amazing, nice job choosing your evidence and analyzing it.
